Black Vertical Radiators - Fast Next Day Delivery

What Are Black Vertical Radiators?

Black vertical radiators are radiators that run up the wall rather than along it, finished in matt black. They come in traditional column styles with round bars, modern flat panel designs with a smooth face, and oval panel versions.

Do Black Vertical Radiators Heat A Room As Well As Horizontal Ones?

Yes, output depends on total surface area and BTU rating rather than which way the radiator faces. A vertical radiator simply fits that surface area onto a narrow wall instead of a wide one, which is why they suit rooms where wall space is limited.

What Size Black Vertical Radiator Do I Need?

Measure your room's length, width and ceiling height, then run those figures through a BTU calculator to get the output you need. Match that number to a radiator's stated heat output, then check the height and width fit your wall with room for the valves underneath.

Should I Choose Single, Double Or Triple Panel?

Single panel suits smaller rooms and cloakrooms where heat demand is lower. Double gives noticeably more output for the same wall space, and triple column more again, so those suit larger rooms or anywhere you want warming through quickly.

Column Or Flat Panel, Which Should I Pick?

Column radiators have the classic ribbed look and suit period properties and traditional rooms. Flat panel radiators have one smooth front face, which looks cleaner against modern tiling and gives less surface for dust to gather on.

Do Black Vertical Radiators Need A Special Wall?

Vertical radiators are heavier than compact ones, so the wall needs to take the weight. Solid masonry is straightforward, while a stud wall usually needs noggins fitted between the studs so the brackets fix into something solid.

Do Black Radiator Valves Come Included?

Valves are usually sold separately, so check before ordering. You'll need a pair, either manual or thermostatic, in angled, straight or corner depending on where your pipes come in, and matching matt black valves finishes the look properly.

How to Choose Black Vertical Radiators for Your Home?

To choose black vertical radiators for your home, calculate the BTU output your room needs first, then measure the wall space including clearance for valves at the bottom. Decide between a classic column or modern flat panel style, check your wall can carry the weight, and order matching matt black valves at the same time.
