Undermount Basins

Undermount basins sit beneath the worktop rather than on top of it, so the edge of the bowl is hidden under the surface. That gives you an unbroken worktop with no rim, which is where the clean, built-in look comes from.

Perfect for family bathrooms, master bathrooms and en-suites. With no rim standing proud, you can sweep water and toothpaste straight into the bowl rather than working around a lip, so the worktop stays tidy with very little effort. It also makes the basin look part of the furniture rather than something sat on it.

Bathroom Mountain offers undermount basins as complete vanity units with the basin already fitted, in wall hung and floor standing designs from 600mm up to 1200mm double basin. Tops are Carrara marble and the units come in natural oak, walnut, black oak, chalk white, graphite grey, inky blue and midnight green, with brushed brass or knurled brass handles. A plumber connects the tap and waste, and the marble top benefits from sealing to protect against staining.

As a leading UK bathroom retailer, Bathroom Mountain offers affordable and quality undermount basins backed by our Price Match Promise, fast next-day UK delivery options and an Excellent Trustpilot rating, so you can buy with confidence.

What Is An Undermount Basin?

An undermount basin fits beneath the worktop rather than resting on top of it, so the rim is concealed under the surface. The result is a continuous worktop with the bowl set into it, giving a built-in, fitted appearance.

What's The Difference Between Undermount And Counter Top Basins?

A counter top basin sits visibly on the surface, so the whole bowl is on show as a design feature. An undermount basin tucks beneath it, which keeps the worktop uncluttered and makes wiping water straight into the bowl much easier.

Are Undermount Basins Easier To Keep Clean?

They're one of the easiest setups to live with. Because there's no rim sitting proud of the worktop, you can sweep water, toothpaste and hair straight into the bowl rather than cleaning around a raised edge.

Do Undermount Basins Come With The Vanity Unit?

Every option here is supplied as a complete unit with the basin already fitted into the marble top. That takes the guesswork out of matching a bowl to a worktop, and means the cut-out is already done to the right size.

What Size Undermount Vanity Should I Choose?

Sizes run from 600mm up to 1200mm double basin. Measure your wall width and allow elbow room either side, then check the unit depth against your floor space. A 600mm suits a standard bathroom, while 1200mm gives two separate washing areas.

Should I Choose Wall Hung Or Floor Standing?

Wall hung units leave the floor clear underneath, which makes a bathroom feel more open and mopping easier, though the wall needs to carry the weight. Floor standing units sit on a level floor and usually give slightly more internal storage.

Does A Marble Top Need Sealing?

Natural marble is porous, so sealing it protects against staining from toiletries, cosmetics and water marks. Wiping spills promptly and resealing periodically keeps the surface looking as good as the day it was fitted.

How to Choose Undermount Basins for Your Bathroom?

To choose undermount basins for your bathroom, measure your wall width and check your waste pipe position first. Decide between wall hung for clear floor space or floor standing for simpler fitting, pick single or double basin depending on how many people share the bathroom, and match the handle finish to your taps. Order from Bathroom Mountain, the bathroom specialists, for quality basins at affordable prices.
