What Size Should A Large Bathroom Mirror Be Above My Vanity?

A large bathroom mirror should be wider than your basin but no wider than the vanity unit below it. For a double vanity, take the total width and subtract 40mm to 100mm to leave a margin either side. Measure the vanity first, then shop for the mirror.

Will A Large Mirror Make A Small Bathroom Look Bigger?

Yes, more glass reflects more light, which makes a compact bathroom feel brighter and more open. Position matters too, so hanging it on the wall that catches the most light gives the biggest difference.

Can A Large Bathroom Mirror Be Too Big?

It can. A mirror starts to overwhelm a room once it's wider than the vanity or covers more than about 75 to 80 percent of the wall. Leave clear wall either side so it reads as a feature rather than filling the space.

Do Large Bathroom Mirrors Steam Up?

Any mirror mists over in a poorly ventilated bathroom. A built-in heated demister pad or good extraction solves it, and non-heated mirrors clear on their own once the room airs out.

Do I Need An Electrician To Fit An Illuminated Mirror?

Mains-powered LED mirrors run at 240V, so they need a qualified electrician under UK bathroom wiring rules. Non-illuminated and battery-powered mirrors just need a drill, a spirit level, and the right fixings for your wall.

How to Choose Large Bathroom Mirrors for Your Bathroom?

To choose large bathroom mirrors for your bathroom, measure your vanity width first and pick a mirror slightly narrower than it, then check you've got the wall height to hang it at eye level. Decide between non-illuminated for a simple fit or mains LED for proper grooming light, and match the frame finish to your taps.
