The bath, in most cases, and quite rightly so, is the stand-out feature of a new bathroom. The bath should look elegant and comfortable in its surroundings. It shouldn’t take over the entire space but make the most of the available floor area whilst being of suitable proportions and providing a desirable and practical bathing area.
1 – Back To Wall Traditional Style
Our Harrow Back-to-Wall Freestanding Bath is a traditional double-ended design, based on practically every classic claw-foot bath that has ever existed! However, this one sits flat against the wall on it’s long side, so it doesn’t have to be placed in a large bathroom. The tap-holes are deck mounted and positioned in the centre of that long side. A very convenient choice for where you want to achieve a classic look with the ease of installation of a back to wall design. Black and white feet also available, in ball and claw designs.

2 – Freestanding Contemporary Style
The Abbey freestanding bath has a contemporary style that combines straight lines and curves, and it comes in two sizes – 1500mm L and 1700mm L, so it could be a very good solution for a smaller bathroom. As it’s designed to be teamed with wall-mounted or floor-mounted freestanding taps, it gives budding designers plenty of options to create a sleek, super-modern layout. Just allowing a few extra centimetres in your layout to accommodate freestanding taps adds a sense of spaciousness. Shown here with our Trent Matt Black Freestanding Bath Shower Mixer Tap.

3 – Single-Ended Roll Top Bath
The Abingdon 1700mm Single Ended Roll Top bath can be used in various layouts, so can be a good choice for smaller or awkwardly proportioned bathrooms. The Single End aspect means it can be positioned as a freestanding bath, with the taps deck-mounted with stand pipes, and it can sit alongside a wall or project into the room, with the ‘tap end’ against a wall. If you have enough floor space, it could even be positioned diagonally. Shown here with Sherbourne Traditional Chrome Freestanding Bath Shower Mixer Tap with stand pipes.

4 – Rectangular Standard-Sized Bath
Perhaps you’re looking for a standard-sized rectangular bath, to replace an existing bath and consequently streamline the installation process. Look no further than the Oakham 1700 Space-Saving Bath, available in both right and left-handed versions, which will instantly update a bathroom, without too much plumbing and installation upheaval. We love the combination of crisp straight edges for the back to wall aspect, and the elegant interior and exterior curves. It’s suitable for use with wall-mounted taps for a super-contemporary look, or can be teamed with deck-mounted taps or a bath/shower mixer combination, and a shower screen if required.

5 – L-Shaped Shower Bath
The L-Shaped Shower Bath is a perfect double-duty design that is a practical and straightforward use of floor space. It’s a good choice for an in-between sized bathroom that perhaps isn’t quite big enough for a separate shower and bath. And perhaps there’s a member of the family that doesn’t want to give up bathing facilities but who also wants to enjoy an invigorating shower! We also think that a bath-shower combination is great for youngsters, who generally enjoy bath-time and may not be quite ready to step up to using a shower. The L-Shaped design takes up very little more space than a standard bath, and provides a comfortable showering area, with an L-shaped screen included.

6 – P-Shaped Shower Bath
Our P-Shaped designs have exactly the same advantages as our previously-mentioned L-Shaped designs, but include soft curves into the design, which can be considered to team up more effectively with our traditional or classic taps and shower sets. The shower screen itself also has a pleasing curved design, and the whole set comes in either a Right or Left-handed design option. The ‘foot end’ of the bath has a lovely, rounded design, which allows for a little storage space on the end for toiletries and sponges. Naturally, the curve of the ‘P’ shape and the curve of the glass screen match each other perfectly. The bath is also available without a screen…

7 – A Slipper Bath
A Slipper Bath has to be the epitome of pure elegance. Ideally it should be perfectly positioned so one can recline in the bath whilst gazing out of the window… but maybe if the view isn’t up to much a lovely window blind, painting or print could be substituted instead! A traditional Slipper Bath has one raised end, designed to support the head and neck whilst enjoying a long soak. This is a single-ended slipper bath, but we also have double-ended designs, such as the Mayfair and Kensington. The Highbury model comes with a choice of White, Black or Chrome ball or claw feet, and has deck-mounted taps.

8 – Contemporary Double Ended Freestanding Bath
For sheer design simplicity that will work in any setting, from sleek and spacious to small and elegant, take a look at the brilliant Newham 1700mm freestanding bath. It sits on the floor, so all the plumbing is hidden, and is shown here with our Trent Matt Black Freestanding Bath Shower Mixer Tap. This simple design stands out on it’s own, and needs very little in the way of decoration to complete a stylish, pared-down look. The Newham is also available in 1500mm length so can be chosen for smaller rooms or perhaps an en-suite.
