Square Baths

What Is A Square Bath?

A square bath, usually sold as an L shaped shower bath, has a squared-off wider end at the shower position rather than tapering like a standard bath. That extra width gives you proper room to stand and shower, while the narrower end keeps the overall footprint down.

What Size Square Bath Should I Buy?

Square baths on this page come in 1500mm and 1600mm lengths, which cover most UK bathrooms. Measure your available wall length and the width including the widest point of the squared end, then check there's still clearance for the door to open.

Do I Need A Left Handed Or Right Handed Square Bath?

Handing refers to which end the wide showering section sits when you're facing the bath. Stand where you'd normally enter the bathroom and look at where your taps and waste are. If the wide end needs to be on your left, that's a left handed bath, so double-check before ordering.

Does A Square Bath Come With A Screen And Panel?

Many square baths here are sold as a package with a 6mm easy clean bath screen, and a good number include the front panel as well. Check the product title carefully, since some listings are bath plus screen only.

What's The Difference Between A Fixed, Framed And Folding Bath Screen?

A fixed screen is a single solid panel that stays in place, simple and the easiest to clean. A framed or grid screen adds a metal border for a more defined, industrial look. A folding screen hinges in the middle so it can be pushed back out of the way, which helps in a tight bathroom.

Is A Square Bath Good For Showering Over?

That's exactly what a square bath is designed for. The squared wider end gives far more standing room than a standard tapered bath, so you can shower comfortably. It's the practical choice when one bath has to work as both bath and shower.

How Do I Clean A Square Bath And Its Screen?

Wipe the acrylic with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner. The easy clean coating on the screen glass stops water and limescale bonding, so a quick squeegee or wipe after showering keeps the glass looking clear.

How to Choose Square Baths for Your Bathroom?

To choose square baths for your bathroom, measure your wall length and check your door clearance first, then work out whether you need left or right handed based on where your taps and waste sit. Decide whether you want the screen and front panel included, pick a screen style and finish that matches your taps, and confirm your plumber can work with your existing pipe positions.
