Deep baths have a taller internal depth than a standard bath, so they hold more water and let you submerge properly. Your shoulders and knees stay under the water, which is what makes a long soak comfortable throughout.

Perfect for family bathrooms, master bathrooms and en-suites. The extra depth means your shoulders and knees stay under the water, so the bath holds its heat longer and a long soak stays comfortable throughout. They suit taller adults particularly well.

Bathroom Mountain offers deep baths in freestanding, back to wall, curved corner, roll top slipper and L shaped shower bath types, in 1500mm, 1600mm and 1700mm lengths. Finishes include gloss white, matt white, fluted and inky blue, with left and right handed options on the corner and shower bath shapes. Acrylic is light to handle and holds heat well. A plumber fits yours, and the floor should be level and sound given the extra water weight. A soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner keeps matt finishes looking their best.

As a leading UK bathroom retailer, Bathroom Mountain offers affordable and quality deep baths backed by our Price Match Promise, fast next-day UK delivery options and an Excellent Trustpilot rating, so you can buy with confidence.

What Is A Deep Bath?

A deep bath has a taller internal depth than a standard bath, so it holds more water and lets you submerge properly rather than lying half in it. Designs here include freestanding, back to wall, curved corner, roll top slipper and L shaped shower baths.

How Deep Is A Deep Bath?

Standard UK baths sit around 400mm to 450mm deep internally, while deep baths typically run 500mm or more. Check the water depth to the overflow rather than the overall height, since that's the figure that tells you how much water you'll actually be sitting in.

Which Deep Bath Shape Should I Choose?

Freestanding suits a larger bathroom where you can walk around it. Back to wall gives a similar look against one wall while saving space. Curved corner fits an awkward room shape. A roll top slipper bath has one raised end for reclining. An L shaped deep bath works if you need to shower over it too.

Do Deep Baths Use More Hot Water?

A deep bath holds more water, so filling it fully uses more hot water than a standard bath. If you're on a combi boiler or a smaller hot water cylinder, it's worth checking your system can fill it at a comfortable temperature before choosing the deepest option.

Does My Floor Need Checking For A Deep Bath?

Yes, more water means more weight, so the floor needs to be level and structurally sound. A ground floor concrete slab is rarely a problem, but on an upstairs timber floor it's worth having a plumber or builder check the joists before delivery.

Are Deep Baths Comfortable For Tall People?

Deep baths suit taller people well, since the extra depth keeps your knees and shoulders under the water. Look at the 1700mm lengths for the most room to stretch out, and check the internal length rather than just the external measurement.

Can I Get A Deep Bath For A Small Bathroom?

Yes, the 1500mm lengths give you the extra depth without the full footprint of a 1700mm bath. Curved corner and L shaped deep baths also work well in tighter or awkwardly shaped rooms where a standard rectangular bath wouldn't fit comfortably.

How to Choose Deep Baths for Your Bathroom?

To choose deep baths for your bathroom, measure your floor space and decide which shape fits, freestanding, back to wall, corner, slipper or L shaped shower bath. Check the internal water depth rather than the external height, confirm your hot water system can fill it, and get your floor checked if it's going upstairs. Order from Bathroom Mountain, the bathroom specialists with years of experience, for quality baths at low prices.
