What Is A Black Bath Screen?

A black bath screen is a toughened glass panel that fits along the edge of a bath, framed or hinged in matt black. It stops water reaching the floor while you shower, and comes in straight, L shaped, grid, fluted and folding designs.

What Glass Thickness Should I Choose?

4mm is the lightest and most affordable, and works fine for occasional showering. 6mm feels more solid and is the most popular choice for family bathrooms. Premium 8mm is the heaviest and most substantial, giving a high-end feel closer to a shower enclosure.

What's The Difference Between Straight, L Shaped And Folding Screens?

A straight screen is one fixed panel, simple and easy to clean. An L shaped screen wraps around the corner of the bath for better water coverage. A folding screen hinges in the middle so it can be pushed back out of the way, which helps in a tight bathroom.

What Are Grid And Fluted Black Bath Screens?

Grid screens have black bars running across the glass for a Crittall-style industrial look. Fluted screens use ribbed glass that softens the view through while still letting light pass, which also adds a bit of privacy.

What Does Easy Clean Glass Actually Do?

Easy clean is a coating applied to the glass that stops water and limescale bonding to the surface. Water beads and runs off instead of drying on, so a quick squeegee or wipe after showering keeps the screen clear with far less scrubbing.

What Width Black Bath Screen Do I Need?

Most standard baths take an 800mm screen, with 1000mm giving more coverage on a wider bath or where water tends to escape at the far end. Measure your bath width and check how your shower is positioned before ordering.

Is A Black Bath Screen With A Towel Rail Worth It?

It's useful in a smaller bathroom where there's nowhere convenient to hang a towel near the bath. The rail is built into the screen frame, so you gain somewhere to reach for a towel without fitting anything extra to the wall.

How to Choose Black Bath Screens for Your Bathroom?

To choose black bath screens for your bathroom, measure your bath width first, then decide between straight, L shaped or folding depending on how much coverage and clearance you need. Pick 6mm or 8mm glass for a more solid feel, look for easy clean glass to cut down on cleaning, and match the matt black to your existing taps.
