This time we’re giving you some of the best bathroom layout ideas for your home… from suggesting improvements to existing layouts to deciding upon the best bathroom layout if you’re starting from a blank slate. Happy planning!
1 – The Feature Bath
One of the best and most popular bathroom layout ideas is to have a feature bath. The concept of a feature bath is to make the bath the most important item in the layout – it’s a favourite interior design trick and a layout idea that is difficult to get wrong! Ideally, the bath will be the first thing in view upon entering the bathroom – so try and plan things so that the basin and WC are on a different wall. Our Freestanding Kensington Slipper bath looks stunning here, simply styled with timber panelling and dark window joinery.

2 – A Neat Combination Vanity and Toilet
This simple bathroom layout idea is a good choice if you want to keep your basin and toilet together (it can streamline the plumbing requirements) and works well if you want to have say, a bath on an adjacent wall, or a shower cubicle opposite. As the two facilities are combined, it can also be considered to be a space-saving choice as you’re not allocating walk-around space between the two items.

3 – A Traditional Side by Side Layout
Suitable for both large and small bathrooms, the choice of a traditional low-level toilet cistern and a pedestal basin will suit most period homes. And, of course, there’s also the option of choosing a matching freestanding bath – perhaps a traditional roll-top, such as our Tonbridge 1600mm Dove Grey design, with claw feet. Here, our Hudson Traditional Close Coupled Toilet looks smart and creates a neat layout next to the pedestal basin.

4 – Contemporary Style in a Corner Setting
Putting the basin and toilet on different walls is a stylish layout – and often works well in smaller, square rooms. It’s a layout that works well if you want to show off near, contemporary fitting, whilst still having the opportunity to be adventurous with the wall finishes. Here our Atlanta Square Pedestal Basin looks dramatic and provides a generous hand/face washing space, whilst being just 55cm wide. The single tap-hole keeps the look simple and streamlined, and there’s surface space for lotion and soap. The toilet is our Atlanta rimless pan design, which looks sleek and streamlined and is super-easy to keep clean – the toiler set is soft-close too, hurrah!

5 – A Wow-Factor Traditional Vanity Basin
A narrow room can be enhanced by placing the Vanity Basin in pole position so it’s seen as soon as the bathroom door is opened. This layout is good for a dressing room, cloakroom, en-suite or just a regular bathroom. If you’re handy at DIY, add wall panelling to echo the proportions of the cabinet doors. A mirror is an absolute must too, this elegant bathroom features our Thea Illuminated LED mirror, which has a beautiful 1930s Art Deco vibe.

6 – Double Drama with a Double Vanity
If wall and floor space allow, go for a dramatic layout by including a double-drawer vanity. Emphasise the symmetry of the layout by also choosing imposing countertop basins and an eye-popping pair of mirrors. The rest of the bathroom can be very neat and unobtrusive – you’ve created a dramatic layout with these choices! Our Elba Midnight Green Double Wall Hung vanity is the star of the show… measuring 1200mm wide, with brushed brass accents.

7 – Go for Gold with a Walk in Showe
A luxurious layout can include a spacious walk-in shower, it’s one of the best bathroom layout ideas for larger spaces, and if you’re working with a return panel, the size combinations offer plenty of opportunity to maximise the floor area. Contemporary bathrooms often have floor-to-ceiling windows, and a return panel helps keep the shower spray enclosed, whilst keeping the overall look of the layout light and airy. Our Munich Brushed Brass 700mmx700mm enclosure with return and side panel is definitely one of our better layout ideas…

8 – A Back to Wall Bath adds Definition and Focus
If your design choice is a centrepiece bath, let that be the focus of your layout. A back-to-wall bath, such as our Stafford model can be teamed with wall-mounted taps for an extra-stylish look. The curved outline is a beautiful design feature too – and using dark tiles will allow the graceful sweep of the curves to stand out. Creating a false wall behind the bath will accommodate the pipework and also allow a creative designer to add a narrow shelf for decorative purposes. Clever stuff!

Your bathroom should be your sanctuary where style meets functionality. Whether it’s the sleek sophistication of brushed brass or the timeless elegance of matt black, the right design can transform your space into a personal oasis.
