Drying in Style: Answering ‘How Much do Towel Rails Cost?’

If you’re designing a new bathroom, there’s a lot to think about – apart from the basics of bath and shower gel, there’s also the question of heating. A warm and cosy bathroom or shower room is the goal, so here’s our guide to drying in style – whilst answering, ‘How much do towel rails cost?’.

1 – A Flat Panel Ladder Towel Rail

Towel rails add a very definite sense of style to a new bathroom, whilst not adding too many extra £££s to the final bill. In fact, a lot of our towel rails come in at under £200, which is an affordable slice of a bathroom budget. Our Santorini Anthracite Flat Panel towel rail looks crisp and elegant, this size is the 1200x600mm model, which would be the right size for an average bathroom, and the current price is £199. It’s also available in White, and there’s an electric version too, plus multiple size options.

2 – The Designer Heated Towel Rail

Our Designer ranges of heated towel rails are super-stylish, beautifully proportioned and elegantly finished – but without a supercharged price tag! The Palermo Anthracite Designer Heated Towel Rail is 1200x600mm, with narrower and taller versions available, also in black. We like the open rails on the right-hand edge and the squared-off crisp lines. This particular size is £279.99, so again, it’s an affordable way of adding a high-end designer touch to a new bathroom or shower room. And… it would also look rather good in a grey, black or white kitchen too!

3 – Traditional Style Heated Towel Rail

For a very traditional scheme, take a look at our Gibraltar Traditional Chrome Heated towel rail. Here it’s perfectly positioned above the bath, meaning that a warm dry towel can be easily reached when stepping out of the bath. It’s a great space-saving solution too, taking up no floor space, and utilising otherwise unused wall space above the bath. It measures a neat 690x600mm and is currently priced at £169.99. 4 – An Electric Heated Towel Rail

Sometimes it’s easier to retrofit an electric heated towel rail into a bathroom scheme, rather than running new central heating pipes around the room. Or it may be the right solution for a new bathroom, shower room or cloakroom, depending on where existing electrical and plumbing connections are placed. This little gem is the Barcelona Electric Matt Black heated towel rail, measuring 1200x500mm. There are literally dozens of options in the Barcelona collection, including Brushed Brass, White and Anthracite, and multiple sizes. It also comes as a regular central-heating version as well. This size and model is currently £154.99 – rather a good investment we think!

5 – A Tall Brushed Brass Heated Towel Rail

Go for gold with this beautifully practical and very stylish Barcelona Brushed Brass Straight Heated Towel Rail. It measures 1600x500mm so provides a lot of warming and airing space (especially good for airing that tangle of socks that always seems to end up at the back of the washing machine!). Of course, it will keep the bathroom cosy and warm too… this size has a 1938 BTU output and is currently priced at £219.99 – a very reasonable price to pay for such a glamorous addition to the bathroom.

7 – The Traditional Column Radiator + Rail

This Black Traditional 8-Column Towel Rail radiator is a very authentic period addition to a bathroom scheme. The black colour option gives it a contemporary touch, but it’s also still perfectly keeping in a very traditional bathroom design that could include panelling, dark-painted window joinery and of course, the all-important roll-top bath. This design is floor-standing, and the top rail extends beyond the radiator columns so a large towel can easily be hung on that rail and will be beautifully warm at the end of a relaxing bath. This size, with eight column, measures 950x660mm and there’s a narrower version available too, at 480mm wide. The current price is just £269.99, also available in white.

8 – A Traditional Chrome Floorstanding Rail

Keep the look simple and elegant with a plain and neat Floorstanding Traditional Chrome heated towel rail. This is the Gibraltar design, measuring 1200x600mm. This type of rail looks brilliant when positioned against a brightly patterned wallpaper or boldly painted panelling. There is also a Freestanding version which could be a good option if you wanted to position the rail in front of a window or away from the wall – perhaps to accommodate boxed-in pipework for instance, or so it could sit alongside a freestanding and centrally positioned bath.
