Creating a mindful bathroom

This time of year can be difficult, from the stress of returning to work after the Christmas break, to the cold, short days. It’s so important to give yourself time to look after yourself mentally and physically, and your bathroom should be a space where you can unwind and relax from the troubles and stress of the day. So we’ve put together 8 simple steps to add a zen feel to your bathroom…

1. Bring in a bath caddy

If you haven’t got one already, a bath caddy is essential if you like to relax in the bath with a book or your favourite boxset on your tablet. You can also get caddies that have spaces for snacks and drinks!

2. Add some artwork

A piece of artwork can really change the vibe of the bathroom, and help you to become more relaxed depending on the colours used.

3. Colour scheme

The colour scheme of your bathroom has a huge impact on how it makes you feel. Neutral tones such as white, grey or beige, are said to be the best for relaxation. Neutrals are also really popular right now and you can play with different tones of the same colour to add dimension!

4. Warm, fluffy towels

There’s nothing worse than getting out of the shower, or bath in the winter and being greeted with the freezing cold air! Investing in some quality towels, and keeping them warm on a towel radiator, helps to maintain the same level of relaxation when you get out of the bath or shower as you felt inside.

5. Add some plants

Plants, plants, plants! We all love them in bathrooms for their aesthetic, but it’s also incredibly calming to be surrounded by plants and they help to purify the air.

6. Candles

It’s a cliche for a reason! I don’t know about you, but when I think of a relaxing bath, I think of dimmed lights and scented candles. They immediately enhance the mood, allowing you to destress after a long day.

7. Soft lighting

Remember that dim lighting I mentioned? If you also associate that with relaxation but are unable to install a dimmer in your bathroom, our LED mirrors offer a small amount of light that’s just right for creating that soft atmosphere.

8. Reduce clutter

It’s easy for bathrooms to get cluttered, but keeping your spaces clutter-free is key for creating a space where you can truly relax and clear your mind. Luckily, there are lots of stylish cabinets available for different sized bathrooms that neatly tuck your items out of sight.

9. Aromatherapy

Smell is a very important part of feeling calm. Using certain essential oils in the bath or through a diffuser can help you to relax and associate those smells with that feeling.
